| About Make A Million Appeal |
 We are a family run affair with Linda Green heading up the charity, supported by her sisters Karen and Alison along with their dad Roy. The family understand the trauma that this disease unleashes, as they watched their beloved mum Shirley battle and, in July 2007 lose her fight with breast cancer, and then got the devastating news that Karen, Linda’s twin sister, had also been diagnosed with this dreadful disease.
Sitting around a kitchen table Linda, along with family and friends, soon discovered that the family’s plight was shared by many others and pledged to do something, and that something is MAMA. Since it was started MAMA has hosted over 3,000 people at charity balls, networking lunches and golf days and raised thousands of pounds in the process.
One of the special things about MAMA is that we are helped everywhere by friends and family that have all been touched by the disease. A great example of this is Lynne Roberts who watched her Mum and Grandmother battle breast cancer. She has kindly donated her time, experience and passion for raising money at every event so far. Another is Tim Marsden who has pulled together a group of friends to cycle from Liverpool to Hull in 24 hours to raise money for us.
 In 2011, we are proud to support the Willen and Overgate Hospices, both of whom are celebrating their 30th anniversaries this year, and Yorkshire Cancer Research.
Our dream is a simple one and with your help we can make it happen.
